www desw gov in Scholarship 2024-25: The central government has released the notifications for the PM scholarship Scheme. Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the PM Scholarship Scheme (DESW Scholarship) for the academic year 2024-2025.
The PM Scholarship Scheme (PMSS) has been initiated by our Honorable Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi in the year 2014.
This scholarship applies to students who have passed 10th or 12th, children of Ex-Serviceman (Military) who are willing to pursue higher education.
The objective of this scheme is to provide financial support to the family whose family members were Ex-Servicemen and whose present situation is less than what they can afford for their child’s education.
This scheme was started in the Year 2007 and is being successfully run by the Government.
This scholarship has provided hope for many students in achieving their goals and for the completion of their academic courses.
Rewards:
- The boys would receive Rs. 2500 per month
- The girls would receive Rs. 3000 per month
- The duration of the scholarship is 1-5 years

- The last date to apply for the DESW scholarship: is 31st January 2024
- Applications/Institution verifications will be closed by: 15th February 2024
- DNO/SNO/MNO Verifications will be closed by: 26th February 2024
PM Scholarship Eligibility 2024-25
A student fulfilling all the below-mentioned criteria is eligible to apply for this scheme.
- Students should complete their Diploma/Graduation course in the year 2024-2025.
- The candidates must have passed class 12th or any Graduation or Diploma course with at least 60% imprints.
- Any understudy who is a reliant ward or a widow of Ex-Servicemen and Ex-Coast Guard staff who passed on in outfit or got incapacitated during the coast watchman administration or military administration can apply.
- The applicant is certifiably not a regular citizen or grant of Para Military Personnel.
- Any understudy who isn’t getting any pay for an expert degree course.
- The applicant is seeking after examinations through just an ordinary, not a separation adapting course.
- Students should seek after Master’s Degree Courses aren’t qualified.
- Students studying abroad are not eligible.
- A Student who has secondary income Sources (job, part-time jobs, etc.) is not eligible.

Eligibility Criteria
- The family’s annual income must be less than Rs. 6 lakhs.
- The age limit of the candidate is 16-25 years.
- Students pursuing their regular courses are eligible for this scheme.
- Any student doing a long-distance learning course is not eligible
- This scholarship is applicable for pursuing only one course, application for multiple courses would be considered invalid.

The eligible and interested candidates can submit their applications online at www.desw.gov.in/scholarship 2024 or you can also apply at the National Scholarship Portal’s website.

Students who have gone through the above-mentioned eligibility criteria can submit their applications online.
Before submitting your application, make sure that you are fulfilling all the above-mentioned factors. Also, make sure that the scanned copies of the required documents are with you.

You can apply for the scholarship in two ways:
Application Process at KSB (Kendriya Sainik Board) website:
- If you are a new user who wants to apply for this scholarship for the first time then you need to register with the KSB.
- Visit the online application to register Register here .
- A new page will be opened with the Application Form
- The application form consists of 2 parts (Part 1 & Part 2) as shown in the below image
- Fill out all the fields of Part 1 and Part 2
- In the Part 1 Form you need to fill the details like enter the who you are?, First Name, Middle Name, Surname, Service Number of ESM, Do you have existing ESM Id Card, Type of services in ESM, Rank of ESM, Concerned RSB, Date of Birth, Date of Enrollment, Date of Discharge, Date of Death of ESM, Fathers’ Name/Husbands’ Name, Email Id and mobile number.
- In Part 2 you need to update your address details like House no., Street No. & Name, Town, Village, City, State, District, Country, Pincode and bank details like Is your bank account number linked with Aadhar card number?, Name of the bank account holder, Bank name, Branch name, Account no., IFSC Code and pensioner/non pensinoer.
- After filling in all the details, cross-check the details that you have entered.
- Enter the verification in the bottom section as shown below
- Click on Submit button
- The application confirmation mail will be sent to your registered email id.
- Download the acknowledgment

- Visit the KSB online website Click Here
- Then Click on PMSS -> New Application -> Apply Online ( if you want to know more details or want to know about the details about the documents that are need to be uploaded you can click on PMSS -> General Information & PMSS -> New Application -> List of Documents to be Uploaded)
- Then you can Login into KSB, from the dashboard page select the New Application Tab.
- Select the required scheme from the “Please apply for for appropriate scheme from dropdown menu mentioned below:” dropdown.
- You need to upload your recent photo
- After that, there will be 4 sections that you need to fill
- Part 1 : (All the details of the student to be filled up) : Title, First Name of the student, Middle Name of the student, Surname of the student, Aadhar card Number of the student, Gender of the student, Date of Birth of the student, Marital Status of the student, Type of services in ESM, Rank of ESM, Select your Rajya Sainik board, Select your Zila Sainik Board where ESM has Registered, Present Correspondence address, Permanent Address, Contact details of students,
- Part 2 : Ex-Servicemen category, Name of Ex-servicemen/Ex-Coast Guard, Service Number of ESM, Date of Death of ESM, PPO Number, Pensioner/Non Pensinoer, Minimum Eligibility Qualification, Year in which Exam Passed, Total marks of All Subjects given in the Mark Sheet (MEQ), Marks obtained in All Subjects given in the Mark Sheet (MEQ), Percentage of Marks in MEQ, Are you receiving any other Financial Assistance, Name of the Course Admission taken, Duration of Course in years and months, Date on which Admission taken, Date of Commencement of course by College/Institute, Course Completion date approx.
- Part 3 : Name of College/Institute, Address of college/Institute, Course is approved by Regulatory Body/Council, Is your Account Number linked with the Aadhar Card Number, Name of Bank A/C holder (Student), Bank Branch (Student), Account No. of Student, IFSC Code Student’s Bank Branch. Don’t Forget to click on Save button
- Part 4 : Upload Scanned Documents:
- Then Print the Form and click on Save and Forward button.
- Take the Printed Form along with all the documents that have been uploaded in the form (physical copies) and go the Zilla Sainik Board for verification, They will verify your documents and forward it to Rajya Sainik Board after verification this will be forward to Kendriya Sainik Board for the final Approval.
- If your request is approved, the money will be credited to your specified Bank Account within 2 months.
- You can also check the status of your request in the Dashboard Page of KSB.
Application Process at the National Scholarship Portal
- If you are the new student who wants to apply this scholarship for the first time you need to register to the NSP Register Here
- Click on the New Registration link, then you will redirected to the Registration Page of NSP.
- Read the General Instructions/Guidelines thoroughly, select the two checkboxes and click on Continue Button.
- Provide your mobile details and click on verify button.
- In the next step you need to fill your Aadhar details and click on verify.
- Check whether your Aadhar details are reflecting correctly or not.
- Enter the scholarship Type, Scholarship Category (Select Pre-Metric for class 1 to Class 10 and select Post-Metric/Top Class/MCM for class +10,+12 and above) State of domicile, Fathers Name, State of Domicile, Mothers Name, Email Id, Captcha details and click on Register
- Now you will given a Registration Number (Please note the Registration Number it will further be used as Application ID) and Password will be send to your registered mobile number.
- Now you will be redirected to login page
- Enter the Registration Number as Application ID and the Password which has been sent to your phone, enter captcha and click on Login button.
- Now you will be receiving a OTP to your Registered Mobile number and then you need to change your Password in accordance with the specified criteria.
- After Login into the NSR page you need fill the Academic Details, and Other Details and click on Save & continue button.
- Next Page you need to fill the Scheme Details, Contact Details and Upload Documents (like Bonafide certificate) and click Final Submit button.
- You can print the form if you want.
Login to National Scholarship Portal:
- Login into NSP Home Page Click Here
- From the application corner select Fresh Application
- Enter your Application Id and Password in the NSP login Page.
- Now select the required scholarship from the Scholarship list.
- Upload all the required documents and click on Submit button.
- You can check the status of your scholarship in the NSP page by clicking on the Check Your Status and timely alerts will also be sent to your registered mobile phone.

2. Siksha Abhiyan Scholarship-2024-25 (for 10th Passed Students)
It goes under the focal government’s plan, Sarva Siksha Abhiyan has started receiving the applications for Siksha Abhiyan Scholarship Test 2024-2025.
The applications were invited from understudies who are concentrated in the middle of the class tenth to twelfth. This scheme has been launched to help students of financially weaker sections and lighten the burden of education expenses for their families.
Eligibility Criteria:
- The applicant must be studied between classes 10th and 12th.
- A student must be a citizen of India.
- A candidate who belongs to any other foreign country is not eligible to apply for this scheme.
Rewards
- 25 students securing rank 1 in this scholarship exam will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 50 thousand.
- 50 students securing rank 2 in this scholarship exam will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 40 thousand.
- 75 students securing rank 3 in this scholarship exam will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 30 thousand.
- 100 students securing rank 4 in this scholarship exam will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 15 thousand.
- 250 students securing rank 5 in this scholarship exam will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 8 thousand.

- The Letter of admission.
- Recent passport-size photographs.
- A Loan application form should be duly filled and signed.
- Statement of the cost of study.
- PAN card and AADHAR card of the applicant and its parent/or guardian.

- IT returns or IT assessment order of the previous 2 years of the co-borrower.
- Applicant’s parent’s or guardian’s statement of assets and liabilities.

3. National Merit Cum Means Scholarship 2024 (NMMS)
This is a central government scheme launched in May 2008, providing financial support to students who are economically backward.
The main aim of this scheme is to minimize dropout in class VIII and encourage the students to finish matriculation by providing financial support. This scheme encourages their will to study efficiently and to work hard in their higher education.
Eligibility Criteria:
- The student must be studying class 9
- Must have passed with at least 55% marks in the 7th & 8th standard (50% pass percentage is allowed in the case of SC/ST category students)
- The annual income of the family must not cross Rs. 1,50,000/- (One lakh fifty thousand only)
Students needed to renew the scholarship for the next academic year (10th standard)
Rewards:
The selected candidates will get a reward of Rs. 12,000/- per annum (Rs. 1000/- per month).
The scholarship amount is credited to the parent’s bank account quarterly.
