PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana: The Government of India introduced the “Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana” in the year 2019 to support the farmers by providing 6000 rupees per annum as a crop investment.
The scheme was announced by Hon’ble Minister Shri Piyush Goyal on 1st February 2019.

PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (Eligibility & Application Process)
The farmer’s crop investment support scheme was first introduced in the state of Telangana by Chief Minister Shri. Chandra Sekhar Rao. Later the Government of India adopted the scheme and implemented it in India and named as “PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana“.
The PM Kisan Samaan Yojana Scheme is 100% funded by the Government of India, with no participation of states in terms of funds.
The eligible farmers of the country will get financial support of Rs. 6000/- per annum paid in three equal installments.
The amount will be directly credited to the farmer’s bank account.
Over 75000 crore rupees are allocated in the budget to implement the scheme in the country.
During the 2018-2019 financial year, around 20000 crore rupees were allocated for the scheme. And during the 2019-2022 financial year, the farmer count was raised to 14.5 crores and the budget went to nearly 87000 crores.
Eligibility of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana

- The farmer must be a citizen of India
- Must have agricultural land in the database
- The land should be used for agricultural purpose irrespective of the location
- Must have a Bank Account and Aadhar Card
- The farmers who have micro landholdings are also eligible

Who are Not Eligible
The farmers who come to the following categories are not eligible to apply for the scheme.
- All the institutional landholders are not eligible to apply for the scheme
- The candidates who hold the constitutional posts (present and former)
- Former and Present Ministers of State Government
- Members of Loksabha/ Rajyasabha, MLCs, MLAs, Mayors, and Chairpersons of District Panchayats
- Retired Government employees whose monthly pension is more than Rs. 10,000/-
- Candidates who paid income tax in the past financial year
- Doctors, Engineers, CAs, and Architects who are in practice
- The farmers who took land on lease
- Only Agriculture land is considered, the land which is not used for agricultural purposes is not eligible
